Alexis Harris

Alexis Harris began her modern dance training with Wellspring in 1996, having also danced with The Kalamazoo Ballet Company, which has given her many opportunities to strengthen herself as a performer, teacher, and choreographer.   In 1999, Ms. Harris received an Irving S. Gilmore Foundation emerging Artist grant to participate in a Continuum movement workshop with Emilie Conrad in New York State.  She has also studied anatomy and movement at The School for Body-Mind Centering in Massachusetts, Myofascial Meridians with Rolfer Thomas Myers in New York, Thai massage at the Denver Integrative Massage School, and most recently studied intuitive abilities and received a certification in mediumship at Delphi University in Georgia along with Nature and Mysticism with Martha Travers, PhD, a lecturer at U of M in Contemplative Studies, where she teaches nature-based shamanic practices.  Alexis holds a Bachelor’s degree in bio-medical sciences from Western Michigan University and is a practicing licensed massage therapist. Along with her work, Alexis loves exploring and spending time with her two children, Lily and Eli.
